Do you love cereal bars but are tired of paying premium prices for gluten free bars with recognizable ingredients? These are a tasty and healthy alternative made with real fruit, butter, and gluten free flour. I know you will love them! My family simply devours them! Make them for breakfast, or a nice light dessert. Switch out the fruit for your favorite preserves, jam, or jelly.
I was first inspired to make these bars when I came across a recipe by Ree Drummond (aka “Pioneer Woman”) and at the time my family was doing some gluten free eating and I needed to create a gluten free option of the bars. But if you don’t want to go GF, just use regular flour and they will turn out great too!
Put all dry ingredients in your food processor and blend away….
Cut your butter into small cubes and drop those in…
Process until combined, like this…….
Press about 2/3 of the mixture on the bottom of a greased glass baking dish
And then scoop in some delicious natural jam to cover the bottom….yummy
Crumble and press the remaining mixture on top of the jam to form a nice topping.
Pop it in the oven and bake for about 30 minutes and this is what it comes out looking like….ahhhhh
